A few weeks ago I posted this photo on Instagram of this gorgeous outfit and got such a positive repost selfie I wanted to share more of it!

Unfortunately, I could not bring this whole outfit to Paris. The skirt is doesn't fold easily and wasn't versatile enough for the trip and the heels weren't practical for all of the walking. But there was nothing stopping me from sharing this look on the here!

This skirt has made several appearances on the blog and my Instagram, so it's probably no secret that I love it! Its flowy but voluminous, so pairing it with a fitted shirt is necessary. I chose the black and white striped shirt because there is something about stripes that feels very Parisian. Toss on some nude pumps and my favorite tweed blazer and I'd be ready to hit the streets of Paris. But I'll settle for KC! :D

My Only Staple Button-Down

J. Crew Button Down | Camisole (Old Who What Wear Collection similar here and here) | Mix No. 6 Shoes | J. Crew Shorts | Kendra Scott Kiri Necklace

Typically, I am not one for button-down shirts. I find they don't fit my body type as well as expected. So when I tried this blue and white striped shirt, I was shocked to see how well it fit!

J. Crew Button Down | Camisole (Old Who What Wear Collection similar here and here) | Mix No. 6 Shoes | J. Crew Shorts | Kendra Scott Kiri Necklace

Currently there are plenty of sizes available. I sized down for a more fitted look.

This top can dress up any outfit, whether it's a skirt, jeans, or in my case shorts. I love throwing this shirt over a camisole with a rolled up sleeve for a more relaxed style.

Summer Beauty Wish List

When it comes to beauty products, I am a drugstore girl at heart. I love finding quality products are great prices. The majority of the products I swear by can be found in drugstores or Target.

But sometimes, there are those higher-end products that I would just love to get my hands on. When I splurge on makeup, I do so with items that fall into one of two categories. 1) I have tried a smaller sample and LOVED it, or 2) the reviews I've seen on Ulta, Sephora, Influenster, and YouTube had been amazing! So I have complied my list of higher-end makeup items that I hope to eventually add to my beauty collection.

Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil

Stila Heaven's Hue Highlighter

Nars Liquid Blush

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

Urban Decay The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Medium

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer

Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick

BeautyBlender

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer

Have you tried anything on this list? Loved it or hated it?  Think I missed anything? Let me know in the comments below. I love hearing your thoughts!

Here are some of my favorite finds this week!

Like many women, I am obsessed with Target and I am obsessed Victoria Beckham. Target is just wear I manage to get everything I need on a day-to-day basis.  Victoria Beckham is just the most perfect style icon in my eyes. I have literally followed her my whole life, starting from her time in the Spice Girls. In the 90s, I thought her mini lace dresses and crop tops were the best and now her style is just the most chic and posh, pun intended. So when I heard she was doing a collab with Target, I knew I would need to check it out.

When I purchased with dress, I didn't have an event in mind to wear it to, but I knew I would eventually have one. This is both my curse and my saving grace. There have been multiple times, much to my husband's dismay, where I'll purchase an outfit, knowing it will be worn… just not sure when… (But, hey, this worked in my favorite for a wedding we have coming up! More on that later :D)

I have become obsessed with this dress! It's a gorgeous body-con dress that hugs all the right places. I feel absolutely beautiful when I wear it. So far, I have worn it to a baby shower and my younger bother's college graduation, and one more event coming up. This dress, and many others, are still available at Target, and they're discounted now!

If read my blog regularly, you are no stranger to my incredible distaste for the amount of rain we have been having Kansas City recently. The rain has driven my wardrobe to hoodies, tennis shoes, just overall drab clothes to keep myself warm and dry. So I have been so unbelievable grateful for the sunshine we've had for the last few days.

When it comes to spring fashion, my favorite pairings are dainty tops with jeans. I absolutely love that little, thin strapped tops are popular this year because that style has always been a favorite of mine. Now I have the excuse to buy so many this spring and summer! First up, this gorgeous satin and lace top. It's the absolute perfect blush pink, but it also comes in black. This top paired with my ripped Levi's and I just feel so beautiful, ready to take on the day. I added my leopard ballet flats for some extra color and texture and my leather jacket for when the wind picks up. I mean, it's Kansas City in the spring; it's always windy.

Fall Shoe Favorites

I get so excited when it's time to bust out my fall shoe collection! So I decided to share my current favorites for this beautiful season!

1. Nude Pumps These are the classic nude shoe with a twist! There the perfect dress shoe to transition from summer to fall. I wear them every chance I get.

2. Plaid Pumps I clutched these shoes the moment I saw them in the store. I just envisioned wearing them every day in October/November. They're off to a great start!

3. Leopard Ballet Flats You may remember from my Summer Shoe Favorites that I love ballet flats. So of course, I have some for the fall as well. I've had these leopard shoes for some time now and they are perfect with so many fall outfits!

4. Faux Suede Booties No fall shoe collection is complete without a pair of booties. I've treasured these for some time now (as you may be able to tell) but they are the best color, fit, style, and bonus: they are crazy comfy!

Similar: Adrian Western Ankle Boot

5. Knee-High Brown Boots As the fall days go from brisk to freezing, I have my knee-high boots to fall back on. The best part with these boots is I can wear them with jeans, leggings, and dresses in the fall and as we dip into winter.

Friday Finds: Pumpkin Patches

Happy Friday! This past Sunday Steve and I went to an adorable pumpkin patch. It's definitely the best one I have been to in a long time. Don't only was there a huge field of pumpkins to pick from, but we also walked though a corn maze, got apple cider to drink, and apple cider doughnuts. So delicious!

The iconic part of this perfect fall day was that is was 80 degrees outside! So much for spending the day in a sweater and boots; we were sweating in summer clothes!

Below are some of my favorite finds this week!

My Favorite Beauty Products (under $20!)

Every girl has her favorite beauty products; but it can take a long time to find the perfect products. I know for myself, it took years to find the perfect products for my skin, hair, and make-up. In those years, I have tried and tested products from multiple brands with varying price ranges. When I was younger I used to think the more expensive the product, the better it must be. But oh, was I wrong! In recent years, I've truly learned there are quality products are very affordable prices. So I have rounded-up my 9 favorite beauty products, all under $20!

  • Redken Thermal Protecting Spray - $13.62 My hairstylist recommended this product to me nearly a year ago. Now I refuse to put any heat near my hair without it. I have definitely noticed a difference in my hair. There has been so much less breakage which is so important to me because I curl my hair everyday.
  • Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Mud Mask - $6.99 This is a more recent find of mine, but it has already made a huge difference on my skin. It's a miracle worker. I apply this mask 2-3 times a week. It amazes me how quickly my acne has disappeared!
  • Clean and Clear Deep Cleaning Toner - $5.99 This is definitely the product I have been using for the longest amount of time. I pour a few drops on a cotton ball and rub it into my whole face. It picks up left over oil after I wash my face, which is important to me because I have very oily skin.
  • Dove Advance Care Skin Renew - $4.89 In my earlier 20s, I experienced some slight discoloration in my under arms. I began researching remedies. There were several, one of which was using color correcting deodorant. Not only did this deodorant bring my skin back to normal, but its truly the best deodorant I have ever used.
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Cure Strengthener - $6.99 I naturally have thick nails, but they're not the strongest. Layers can peel off easily, which destroy my nails, sometimes forcing me to cut them short. But this nail strengthener has helped my nails stay stronger. Since I almost always have my nails painted, I use it as a base coat.
  • Curel Ultra Healing Lotion - $7.99 During college, my skin went through a very dry spell. It was painful and itchy and not attractive at all. Once I was able to heal my skin, I started to apply this lotion everyday, twice a day. I am very diligent about it, and have even mentioned before that I always carry lotion with me. But the benefit is I haven't had a problem with my skin since I started using this lotion.
  • Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin - $8.99 My favorite thing about this foundation is the coverage. It evens out my whole face to a beautiful, natural tone. I received this product from Influenster, and I'll admit I was nervous to try it. I am very loyal to the brands I use, and hadn't used any Maybelline products before. But I am so happy I tried this because I love it! It was a great Influenster VoxBox!
  • CoverGirl Outlast All Day Lipcolor -  $7.99 I mentioned this liquid lipstick in my What's In My Bag post, but I am completely obsessed with it! I cannot recommend this product enough! This product has given me the best, longlasting lip coverage I have ever seen. It's seriously the best!
  • Essence Make Me Brow - $2.99 The first time I heard about this product was in an EleventhGorgeous video. In this video they found the Essence Make Me Brown was a dupe of the Benefit Gimme Brow. The products work almost identically with one major difference. Essence is 1/8 of the price! This product fills in your brows and makes shaping them super easy.
  • If you have any favorite beauty products of your own I'd love to hear about them!

As alway, thank you for reading. XO-

    Summer Shoe Favorites

Summer has always been my favorite season for shoes. Everything is so colorful, with a mix of high heels and ballet flats. So I decided to share my favorite shoe buys of this summer!

    1. Blush Ballet Flats Ballet flats are always my summer go-to shoe. Personally, I don't like wearing flip flops unless I am at the beach, so I need an alternative to an easy slip on summer shoe. In my array of ballet flats, I realized I was missing a blush pink pair. So I went on the hunt and found this pair! They are so comfy and simple and had a great price point.

Summer_Shoe_1Summer_Shoe_22. Tennis Shoes Another hole in my shoe closet was a stylist tennis shoe. Something along the lines of what Taylor Swift would wear. When I found these, there were so many color options! I decided to go with the turquoise color because it is one of my favorite colors, especially for summer! They go with shorts, skirts, and sun dresses, so I've been wearing them all the time!

    Summer_Shoe_3Summer_Shoe_4

    3. Lace-up Ballet Flats I had been iffy about this lace-up shoe trend. I had seen some styles I liked and others I didn't, so I wasn't sure if it was a style I should pursue. As a compromise, I decided to tryout the style on a less expensive shoe, and see how often I would wear them. Turns out, a lot!

    Summer_Shoe_5

Summer_Shoe_6 4. Peep-Toe Booties I had bought and returned so many pairs of open-toe booties for the last few months. I loved this trend, but could not find a pair that fit me well. I decided to try one last pair, and if they didn't work, I was giving up. Thankfully, I tried because this pair was the perfect one!

    Summer_Shoe_7

    Summer_Shoe_8

    5. Blush/Gray Ankle Strap High Heel When I saw these shoes, I didn't have a reason to buy them. But of course, I didn't let that stop me because they are beautiful! Since they're purchase, I have found reason after reason to wear them and I have gotten so many compliments. Sometimes you just need to buy the shoes!

    Not Your Typical Headboard

Today, I am inviting you into my guest bedroom/office/sewing room/storage room; aka the room every else goes into. It was the last room to get set up after the move, mostly because I deemed it all storage until last week. But my in-laws were coming into town, so I hunkered down in that room and organized. I managed to fit everything, much to my surprise! But once I was done, something still was missing. The walls were bare, the room lacked color, and the bed had no headboard. I wasn't planning on buying a headboard for this bed until we moved into a house. I stood by this thought, but that didn't mean I couldn't add something. I had this DIY project in mind for some time now, so I decided to give it a try! The best part, it would solved all my problems. It would cover one wall, add color, and give the bed a headboard. All for about $50 and a little time.

Below is a step by step guide and pictures of my process. Alternative HeadboardDIY_Headboard_5DIY_Headboard_6DIY_Headboard_7DIY_Headboard_8DIY_Headboard_3

    You're done! Congratulations!
